density is not only dipendent of weight but also on the volume of that substance at the perticular weight.
Density is the realtion between the mass of the molecule and how much space or volue it occupy,
It is defined as the weight of the olecule per volume of that substance. The ratio will be same for the particular molecules all the time.
density = weight / volume
density mostly epessed in gram/cm3 or gram/ milli litre.
For example, Water has density of 1 g/mL, that means 1 gram of water occupies 1 mL of the volume.
The density is characteristic of the molecules. That means by changing the weight or volume the density value can not change, as it is the ratio of the both.
The density of the lead - 11.34 g/mL - 11.34 gram of lead occupies 1 mL of the volume.
The density of the water - 1 g/mL. - 1 gram of water occupies 1 mL of the volume.
the density of the lead is always higher than the water at any volume or weight.
1 g of lead occpies only 0.0882 mL volume. the density = 1/0.0882 = 11.34 g/mL
10 g of water occpies 10 mL volume. But the d = 10/10 = 1 g/mL
