Light from a source is incident on a slit of diameter 0.84 nm on a screen which is at a distance of 1.8 m. The position of the first minimum is 1.35 nm. Calculate the wavelength of the light.
To determine the wavelength of light, we will use the condition for destructive interference in an individual slit, and it is given by the following equation:

where m is the order of the minimum intensity (in our case m =
1),
is the diameter of the slit
 is the wavelength of light.
we must determine the theta angle. The angle that is projected from the horizontal to the first minimum can be determined as follows:

where
is the position of the first minimum and
is the distance to the screen

now let's determine
