Strengths:

  1. Unilever has global presence as it operates in around 190 countries.
  2. It has wide range of products.
  3. Its research and development department is highly funded and it can manufacture products according to customer prefrences.

Weaknesses:

  1. Its competition is with local giants like P&G and nestle which already have firm roots.
  2. Its products can be easily replaced with natural alternatives in emerging markets like asia and africa.

Oppurtunities:

  1. Today customers are very health conscious so unilever has a chance to manufacture health care products.
  2. Unilever has a good track of social responsiblity and today customers prefer to purchase from socially responsible manufacturers only.

Threats:

  1. Due to ongoing economic crisis, Unilever is facing a loss in its revenues and profits.
  2. Local retailers can provide cheaper products as compared to unilever which is big threat to unilever.

Recommendations:

Unilever can provide cheaper products and should be more focused towards corporate social responsibilty.
