Expert Solution

Laplace transform is an integral transform which is mainly used to convert time domain signals into frequency domain signals alternatively, it transfers a function in real variable t into a function in complex variable s.

Laplace transform can be mathematicaly defined as

We usually do not face any difficulty in solving the circuits with no energy storing elements in it, i.e. with no inductor or capacitor.

But when we need to analyse circuits with inductor or capacitor, we need to handle differential equations. Thus to find a solution one must have detailed knowledge of solving all types of differential equations. This is sufficiently difficulty and time consuming.

Laplace transform converts a differential equation into algebraic equations. Algebraic equations are far easy to solve. Thus Laplace transform is a convenient tool for circuit analysis of many of the practical circuits.

We can discuss any querries in comments. I will update the answer accordingly.
