What is the Code of Chivalry, and in what ways does it influence the stories of Lancelot, Lanval, and other Knights of the Round Table stories found in Arthurian legends?
Code of Chivalry occured in the arthur dynasty during 1445 when England was facing a political turmoil and unrest. There was a lot of enjoyment, social and personal pleasure among the soldiers in the british empire. It depicts the story of malory who performed a lot of crimes like sex, rape and theft among the common people in the society. There was a war between Yorkists and Warwarshire which led to the war of the roses. There was a Pentecostal Oath sworn by the round table knights at Camelot functions where it was sworn that serving damsel and distress women is a good social clause and depicts male sexuality and masculanity. It depicts the sexual pleasures in homosociality and the differences between the Lancelot and Guinevere and finally leading to the destruction of the arthurian dynasty. Homosociality is defined by Jean-lipmann Blumen. The code of chivalry involved the testing of the masculanity of the knights and this led Guinevere to killmany knights who did not display acts of love, valor and courage in the homosocial society. The knight sword, shield indicate power, rule, authority, valor and significance in society. There was discussion between Sir Gawain, green knight with the indications of scar marks on their body during sword fights. The knights belong to royal blood and lineage and indicate high potency and virility with potential and courage to overpower rule and authority over other european nations. Sir de forest savage and sir pedivere were depicted in book VI as being cruel and inhuman towards women in the society. Many females were recruited so that the male knights can depict their power and authority with fertility but there were acts of brutality by male knights over the females. lancelot managed to save the wive of Sir Pedivere and prevent the act of shame and brutality with murder for trying to commit this act in society.
