Saudi Arabia or Iraq, which is more likely to be a full democracy by 2050? Explain your answer.
Answer
As per the available facts and other environmental conditions, it is more likely that Iraq could be a bigger candidate to have a democracy till 2050 than Saudi Arabia.
This is because Saudi Arabia has a kingdom and authoritarianism from over a century and there are almost no reported cases of revolt against the established regime by the people of Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, Iraq has recently faced revolt and war for democracy which has led to a ignition of civil war in the country.
Iraq has came into the limelight of International Forums and International communities which are helping the people living inside the country to regain independence as opposed to Saudi Arabia, where there is not even a single act of opposition which is reported in the country due to severe consequences for the same, which is extended up to instant death penalty.
Therefore, Iraq can be called as a soft target for gaining and establishing democracy and not Saudi Arabia. Iraq is a broken state currently searching for political stability and there is a good chance that it may find it in full democracy within the region in an effective manner.
