However, in June 2020, several customers have voiced out their dissatisfaction about their recent electricity bill spikes on social media. In this assignment, you are required to conduct your own research by identifying what are the causes/issues of the dissatisfaction.

The causes/ issues of dissatisfaction are :

1) Due to Pandemic lockdown , people were working from or staying inside their homes for most of the time , that suddenly increased their Domestic electricity consumption . This led to sharp rise in electricity bills that are being charged from customers .

2) In few areas where manual reading from electric meters was done to ensure right amount is being charged by customer was also not done due to Pandemic situation and lockdown . So , an average bill assumed over previous months consumption was given to customers that caused rise is charge even though they did not consumed that amount of electricity .

3) Due to lockdown and summer season peak , electric consumption increased drastically in terms of AC , Refrigeration units being used almost every time , cause rise in power bill .

4) Due to lockdown several sections of electric utility like Generation and Transmission suffered in terms of halt in supply of logistics and resources that led to increase in cost of Generation of Power which imposed on customers in terms of rise in electricity bill .
