Since the implementation of the national Do Not Call Registry, some Americans have noticed an increase in emails containing sales messages. As a consumer do you think this type of selling is effective? Why or why not?
As a consumer, I think this method of selling is not effective ,even more so it's irritating. The purpose of Do not call registry is to avoid such kind of communications that made a consumer's life difficult. Salesman selling all kinds of products over phone is not only distorting for a person who is busy ,but it sometimes build up which can be annoying. I feel that this type of selling is not effective due to the following three reasons.
1. We as consumers ,prefer to be the initiator of inquiries if the need arises, rather than being on the receiving side. It hardly ever works to make us buy things
2. Although it depends upon the person ,but consumers are not easy to get reeled in so easy with just emails.
3 emails are the most inefficient method . Some people do not even check the emails on a regular basis and while others find it hard to differentiate between genuine and fraud emails.
This all makes it hard for a consumer directed email to return as a sale or a potential lead.
