Explain how model organisms make the study of the dependent variable in an experiment easier.
The model organisms are easy to manipulate and hence create the necessary system for studying the disease or question of interest. For example if one wants to study the Alzheimer's disease, then a rat model would be easy to form. The rat produces the same symptoms as Alzheimer's disease does in humans. The Alzheimer's rat is produced by injecting steady dose of rotenone into its system and generating the symptoms of Alzheimer's. By doing so the disease dependent variable is the nervous system coordination defect. This is generated when rotenone blocks certain receptors in the nervous system that generate the action potential and the motor impulse that finally blocks the coordination defect between the muscles and the nervous system. Hence by doing so the dependent variable study is made easy through model organism. Therefore, model organisms make the study of the dependent variable in an experiment easier.
