ANS;ETIOLOGY of john Nashs illness is paranoid schizophrenia and had a very complex system of delusion which were both delusion of grandeur(false belief of having more power,wealth..) and delusion of persecution(false belief of people or groups like government intend to harm them)

John nash is having a triggering event for delusion beacause he is having delusion in particular theme. The triggering event here is when he decoded a russian message transmission. His delusion started from this point. He started to have a false belief that an american big brother want John nash to do his secret works. This is the starting of the series of delusional belief. His delusion made him believe that he is working for the department of defense under a mysterious government agent, william parcher. He believe that he has been performing top secret soviet code breaking and he has been delivering this research to a top secret mailbox in sealed envelopes. In the hospital ,his wife,Alicia Larde, reveals to him that there is no agent named william parcher and none of his envelopes have ever been opened. She even goes on to show him that she was able to track down these secret documents.
