Case study:
The problem of the case , a company that specialized in researching in numerous of blood tests and plasma substitutes for surgical procedures. The company have over 10 labs in Canada, including Vancouver and the head offices in Calgary. Ed Worthy joined Techno Greats ten years ago as a researcher after he graduated from college. After three years working for the company, he got promoted to be a Lab Supervisor before he transferred to Calgary to be the Assistant to the General Manager. One month after he works at the Calgary branch, he got his way up to the General Manager position after the retirement of the previous General Manager. Ed is an excellent leader whom always be there to help his co workers when they needed and create a positive working environment. He is a good role model for the team and always be the one who makes decisions toward everything in the lab.
Being an creative person whom is very passionate about the things he does. Ed always try to make sure everything runs smoothly in the company. However, a major issue that Ed Worthy is facing that he seems failed to obtain the critical elements of being a General Manager, which including: Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling. Ed has a lot of things to do everyday at work, he often plans things in his head but when it comes to reality, many factors exist in the lab prevents him to get plans done. Time management is the most major problem that affects Ed at work, he struggled to accomplish all tasks at work due to his poor prioritize. For example, everyone seeks out to him even when they only got a minor issue and he would try to solve it for them. Therefore, it delays his other tasks that need to be done for the day
