Jurisdiction :
It is a power given to the official or to the court of law to enforce laws or to carry out the legal judgments. It is formed to serve the society by using the laws and regulations at the local, state and federal levels by the jurisdiction body appointed by the government.
Difference between a court of general jurisdiction and a court of limited jurisdiction :
1. General jurisdiction courts are formed to hear and resolve all types of cases such as thiefs, conflicts, etc. For example : District or superior court resolving matter such as doctor sued by a patient, as the patient feels the treatment given to him was not up to the mark., in such cases court can hear the sides of both parties and as per evidences make the decision.
2. Whereas, Court of limited jurisdiction as name suggest are limited to hear only certain matters such as family matters or bankruptcy. They have power to oppose the decision made by the general jurisdiction court.
