The mission statement of coca-cola company is a summary of why
an organization has its overall purpose, to identify the purpose of
its operation: what type of product or service the customer offers,
or to the market and geographical area of activity. It may
include a summary of key issues, such as the values or philosophy
of the organization, the key competitive advantage of the business,
or the desired future situation - "vision."
This mission is not merely a description of an organization from
the outside, but an expression made by its leaders about their
aspirations and intentions to the organization. The purpose of the
mission statement is to communicate the purpose and direction of
the organization to its employees, customers, suppliers and other
stakeholders. Mission statements also create a sense of identity
for employees. Organizations usually do not change their statements
over time as they determine their ongoing purpose and focus.
According to Chris Bart, a professor of strategy and management at
McMaster University, the mission mission statement has three key
components:
Main market: target audience
Contribution: product or service
The difference: what makes a product unique or why an audience
should buy it more than another
