What is purpose of an objective tree and how it is developed ? provide the objective tree for a portable Wireless EEG (Electroencephalogram) device that can be used for medical and non-medical applications.

Solutions

Expert Solution

The Objective Tree is a great tool to consider different perspectives, and to define the different routes that could take to solve a problem.

This tool helps us to define where and where not to intervene. It provides a structure for the conversation that need to have and output of which becomes our project’s objective.

HOW TO DEVELOPE IT:

Teamwork: Involve people who know something about the issues and context that the project will operate in (likely to be the same people who worked through the Problem Tree).

Visualize: Share the view of project with the team to show how the Objective Tree works in practice or find another way for everyone to imagine a tree with its trunk, roots and branches.

Start work: Turn the Problem Tree into an Objective Tree. The tree trunk becomes the project objective, and the roots and branches are redefined to focus on solutions. Then develop the framework that need to assess how and where the organization can best respond.

Lead the discussion: Use questions to draw out responses such as all thinking along the same lines? , or the project need to re-frame areas for improvement?

Once the ideas and motive of all the team satisfying the problem needs indicates completion of objective tree. Following this tree and doing the work in prospective manner leads the project to progress onto the next stage – and also leads into establishing the logic of project.

EEG stands for electroencephalogram, a test commonly used to detect electrical activity in the brain. Detecting, recording, and interpreting “brain waves” began in the late 1800s with the discovery and exploration of electrical patterns in the brains of mammals, and the technology has evolved to enable applications ranging from the medical detection of neurological disorders to playing games controlled entirely by the mind.

Here’s a simplified explanation of how cells communicate: when the electrical charge in an atom is unbalanced, the atom becomes either positively or negatively charged and allows electrons to flow from one atom to another to maintain equilibrium. This flow of electrons refer to as electricity.

These electrical signals (or “impulses”) from atom to atom are what enable human cells to communicate with each other. Our nervous system conducts these impulses, allowing them to jump from cell to cell until they reach their intended destination. The sensor node captures these signals and it will processed as shown in objective diagram.

Modern EEG Applications

Medical Uses of EEG

If extensive brain damage is suspected due to physical trauma, drug abuse, or any other factor, EEG testing can help determine the actual extent of the damage.

EEG cannot measure the performance of the brain beyond its electrical activity, and cannot be used to determine intelligence or to diagnose most mental health conditions (with the exception of certain kinds of psychoses which affect electrical activity in the brain).

EEG testing is used to diagnose and evaluate various neurological conditions, such as epilepsy. The monitoring of a patient’s brain waves can give their doctor insight into any abnormalities in brain function. Other conditions which may be tested for using EEG include Alzheimer’s disease and narcolepsy.
