summarize Symbolic Interactionism and make sure to include these point in it
-NO social pressure...they are in opposition to functionalism...they say you control you
-Micro analysis...unlike the other two, symbolic interactionism now analyzes the individual and they interact with society or in a social institution
-Symbols/definitions....people act towards some sort of social phenomenon based upon how they define it
Symbolic Interactionism suggests that people would learn their attitudes, motivations, behaviours from those around them in the society by interacting with them through language, symbols and signs. This would mean that there is no pressure from the society just as the conflict and functional perspectives suggests because nothing is determined but people interpret the hidden meanings by connecting them with the rewards and punishments those actions of others have in the society. People are free individuals who are tasked with analysing and deciding things for themselves from those who come into contact. This would mean that it would depend on the individuals and their personality about how they would define and view the activities of others in the society because people are unique and free. Most of the behaviours in the society are observed and imitated and this would mean that they have models who through their actions indirectly teach others to behave and think in a certain way which is more applicable and appropriate.
