Solutions

Expert Solution

Classical liberalism is a political concept that speaks of civil liberties under the law and focuses on economic freedom.

Thomas Malthus stated the population theory in the debate between government or state’s intervention, role of the state and individual liberty. Malthus states the population theory. He favoured minimal intervention by the state. He highlights that population grows at a faster rate as compared to the growth rate of food supply. This will lead to an increase in the number of people and the poverty levels in the population will rise due to lack of resources. His theory states that the problem of poverty has been caused due to individual actions and hence government interventions may will not help and hence it should not intervene. In the article he also states that government intervention tends to have a reverse impact to what is actually needed. When governments inject financial aid, the poor tend to spend it on wrong reasons and the conditions remain the same.
