(1) Application that can be recommended to the
company:
- The project management application which I would recommend to
the company I am working in would be Knight
Spear.
- The company I am working in deals in multiple projects and
their completion from time to time.
- The Knight Spear is an Artificial Intelligence based project
management software which is involved in managing the entire
project and the issues involved in its completion.
- The software helps the project managers to keep a track on the
tasks of the members and keep them motivated on timely basis.
- It also helps the members to search for the log files in the
entire system quickly, thus saving time for the team members.
- The application will add to the value of the company as it will
make project management more organized and achievable.
- The roles will be made clear with the software and scope for
conflicts will reduce to a large extent.
- By using the software, the managers can track the performance
of the team members and provide feedback on regular basis, thus
adding value.
(2) DMAIC Improvement Cycle:
DMAIC cycle can be used in project management by the company in
which I am working. Following steps can be followed to manage the
project:
- Define: the project should be clearly defined
and the objectives should be made clear to the entire project team
before starting the project.
- Measure: the performance of the project should
be measured using the right set of tools and methods. Measuring the
project correctly and seeing how well the project is working as per
the standards is an important task and need to be done
carefully.
- Analysis: analysis of the measured portion
should be done and interpretations on how well the project
performed and how effectively the team members did their work
should be made by the managers.
- Improvement: there is always space for
improvement and after analysis is made the area which requires
improvement is identified in the project. For better performance in
future, improvement had to be done.
- Controlling: this is the last step in the
process which involves looking back at the entire project work and
identifying any loopholes and reasons why standards are not met.
After finding the mistakes, corrections need to be done so that
better performance is recorded in future.
