What are some ways we can shift personal health from something that is internal (i.e. medical/pharmaceutical approach) to an external approach (i.e. air quality, soil)?
The personal health is mostly associated with the internal functioning of the body, but it all depends on how we are taking care of and what we are exposing our body to externally. When one is suffering from some problem or disease or is not well, one always seeks for medical approach or visits a doctor for treatment. The pharmaceutical approach aims at using medicines to cure illness and disease and the advancement in the technology helps in treating different ailments. However, with right approach and ways one can even heal through use of external means. One of the perfect example is the air quality where when one is exposed to bad air it leads to a number of respiratory and breathing problems. This not only deteriorates the health but also makes one prone and susceptible to many allergic reactions and infections. It even has the tendency to cause cancer, asthma and at times death. When the air quality is improved by plantation of more trees and reducing the use of vehicles and cutting down on carbon monoxide emission, it will definitely improve life and quality of breathing and reduce cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. There are many food items that are grown with help of fertilizers and pesticides and this impacts our health negatively. However, when crops are grown organically it creates a positive impact in our lives and reduces the overall internal heath issues. Instead of using medicines, it is better to consume food that is high in antibiotics, organic and imparts more health benefits.
