Hello,

Would any one give me three survey questions that Conduct Hypothesis Tests for the following:

  • Section I - Single Mean Compared to a Hypothesized value
  • Section II - Comparison of 2 Means
  • Section III - Comparison of 2 Proportions
  • Section IV - Comparison of 2 Variances
  • Section V - Evaluation of a Goodness of Fit Test
  • Section VI -Conduct an ANOVA for 3 or more Population Means
    1. Conduct a complete Pair-wise analysis regardless of ANOVA Results

Thank you

Survey Questions:

1) Suppose you are conducting a survey on buying habits of women. Choose two samples of women shoppers from two super markets A snd B randomly, denote them by n1 and n2. Calculate the average weekly food expenditure and standard deviation for the two samples. Now test whether the average weekly food expenditure of the two populations of shoppers are equal at 5% level of significance.

The above question is based on Test of significance for difference of means.

2) Suppose you are carrying out a survey on blue- eyed people. Take two large populations, there are 30 and 25 percent respectively of blue-eyed people. Is this difference likely to be hidden in samples of 1200 and 900 respectively from the two populations?

The above question is based on test of significance for two proportions.

3) Suppose you are conducting a survey of 800 families with four children. Collect data on No. of boys taking values 0,1,2,3,4 corresponding to which no. Of girls will be 4,3,2,1,0 and the no. Of families corresponding to them. Is this result consistent with the hypothesis that male and female births are equally probable?

The above question will be solved by using chisquare goodness of fit test.

4) Suppose you are carrying out a survey on rice and wheat eaters in the state Maharashtra. Take a sample of people say 1000 in Maharashtra, suppose 560 are rice eaters and the rest are wheat eaters. Can we assume that both rice and wheat are equally popular in this state at 1% level of significance?

The above question is based on test of significance for single proportion.
