  1. A selection process in which I have participated, as a candidate for a job was “Think Quality over Quantity”. The company was looking for the fresh talent which would enhance the Sales of the company’s financial products in Capital Markets. During the interview only, few talents has been hired by the company which were highly passionate and skill oriented in the Capital Market. In this process, the company has some of the highly professional criteria which describes that a candidate should possess certification of capital market courses. They know all the subtopics in the capital market in deep manner. But it was not possible for the fresh candidate to remember all the things in deep. Although some of us was do remember the things.
  2. No, this process is not effective in hiring the right people every time. This is because when only skill sets are important then in this category very less people fall which satisfies company’s demand. The change that I would recommend to improve the process are:
  1. Add the candidate physical strength rather then only high skill sets.
  2. Some people who are willing to learn at every step they also should be identified during the process of interview and with some training process they would be hired. It actually creates the process better. This is because there may be chance that the fresh candidate does not know the exact application of skill sets in the company working process.
  3. During the interview process, the change an employee can manage in the job need to be identified because the people who are highly talented belongs to small group hence addition of multitalented people also should be given a chance for the job. The working capabilities only leads to success not always the high skill sets as Application knowledge is more important than the Theoretical knowledge.
