A person has a PO2 of 80 mm Hg in their arterial blood. Give three very different reasons that could explain how this occurred.
1 : Anemia :
It is a condition in which lack of enough healthy red blood cells to carry required amount of oxygen to the body's tissues anemia can make you feel tired and weak.
There are many types of anemia, each of one iswith its own cause. Anemia can be temporary or long term, and it can range from mild to severe. Anemia can be a warning sign of serious illness.
2 : Pnemonia :
Pneumonia is the consolation of air sacs present in lungs. These sacs may fill with fluid or pus (purulent material), causing cough with phlegm or pus, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing. Infections of a variety of organisms, including bacteria, viruses can cause pnemonia.
It can range in seriousness from mild to life-threatening. Most serious for infants and young children, people older than age 60 years, and people with weakened immune systems.
3 : Asthama :
Asthma is a condition in which irreversible narrowing and swelling of airway occur and may produce extra mucus. This may produce breathing difficult and trigger coughing, a whistling sound that is wheezing can be heard when you breathe out and shortness of breath.
At some cases , asthma is a minor nuisance. For others, it can be a major problem that may interferes with daily activities and may lead to a life-threatening asthma attack.
There is no treatment of asthma , but its symptoms can be controlled.
These are the main reasons of decrease in PO2 in the arterial blood.
