Are there any statistics that show how many times the Taft-Hartley Act has been actually used to protect workers from their union?

Solutions

Expert Solution

There are not any definite statistics that are available to show as to how many times totally, the Taft Hartley act has been actually used. But President Truman relied upon it twelve times during his entire term as the President of the United States.

However this act is being designed to restrict the power of the labor unions. There were various oppositions when this act was passed by the United States government. Some of the trade union leaders called this act to be anti democratic and it restricts the freedom of speech by any indiviual and of the trade unions.

This act was passed, due to the main reason of allowing free flow of commerical actvities undertaken by the entreprenuers. This was also used to resolve the disputes which arised among the employees and the employers without the interference of the trade unions. The essential services were also safeguarded from the striking employees, and immediate negotiation could be done over the table.
