TIDAL is a subscription streaming service. TIDAL’s value offering to consumers is the differentiated lossless-quality audio for a subscription fee. TIDAL offers ‘great experiences’ to the target segment Millennials. There are about 80 million Millennials in America. Their buying power is quite huge and they also love music. Hence, TIDAL has targeted this Millennial segment. TIDAL’s offering is price over quality hence it is a failure in its launch.

In order to combat competition in the music streaming industry, TIDAL also offers exclusive music content. It also has hi-fi video capabilities. TIDAL is a real threat to Spotify and Pandora however the launch event did not meet its purpose. The launch had big music stars like Alicia Keys who gave a weird speech about TIDAL. It piqued the customers and hence TIDAL’s target to embrace love for music and musicians, good sound quality and compensating artists fairly was not considered in the event. To conclude, TIDAL delivers customer value by providing exclusive music content to the millennials. The recommendation is to prioritize quality over price.
