Solutions

Expert Solution

COLONIC MASS MOVEMENT

Colon mucosa is a simple columnar epithelial except in the anal canal where it is stratified squamous epithelium. It is a part of large intestine and instead of primary propulsion, it has general contract known as mass movement and it is control by myenteric plexus which is a part of enteric nerve plexus. It is present between the longitudinal muscular externa of the large intestine and causes generalized contraction of colon.

Hence option a, b and c are incorrect. It doesn’t support the behavior of colonic mass movement.

Damage to enteric nerve plexus leads to abolish of colonic mass movement. Thus, option d is correct answer.

FETAL CORTISOL

Fetal cortisol help in synthesis of pulmonary surfactant which is essential for the maturity of lungs of the fetus, to survive in the outside word, and help in conversion of hormone.

Hence option a, c and d are incorrect. Thus, option b is correct answer. Fetus cortisol help in production of surfactant, which is essential for lungs so that it doesn’t collapse and keep airways open.
