84) You are in charge of quality control at an automotive manufacturing facility that is using UNS 7068 aluminum alloy for the engine blocks.   How can you verify that this is in fact UNS 7068. Be specific in providing the measurements whatever technique you propose should read for the authentic alloy ?

.

Please answer in clear words NO guessing!!! Thanks

It can be confused with the case of ZICRAL (aluminum-7075), which contains zinc, magnesium and copper, and other metals in much smaller proportion. Applications: plates, sprockets and bicycle tires in addition to carabiners and sports equipment.
7068 aluminum, which is more resistant zicral alternative, an advance certainly important.

Developed in the mid-90s for aluminum producer recognized worldwide, and stored and delivered in Europe largely by Smiths Advanced Metals, Alloy 7068 is designed as an alternative to 7075, higher strength for applications of arms and ammunition. The highly attractive overall combination of mechanical properties (better maintained at elevated temperatures to 7075) and other important characteristics of 7068 has resulted in a widespread specification of the alloy to markedly reduce the weight / cross section or significantly increase the resistance of critical components in various market sectors.

7068 alloy provides the highest mechanical strength of all aluminum alloys and corresponds to some steels. This extraordinary alloy combines a yield strength of 700 MPa (until more than 30% higher than the 7075) with good ductility and resistance to corrosion similar to 7075 and other beneficial features for equipment designers / high-performance components.

7068 alloy is a zinc aluminum alloy 7000 series registered with the Aluminum Association of America and produced according to AMS 4331 (chemical composition and mechanical properties) and AMS 2772 (heat treatment). Fatigue properties and tensile data "A" and "B" alloy 7068 were ratified for inclusion in MIL Manual 5 / MMPDS. The state of standard delivery ductility is T6511. For applications requiring greater resistance to stress corrosion cracking, it is available on request T76511 state.
