Relflexs are the Involuntary types of response which are automated by the blood against any stimuli or some action.

These reflexes are coordinated event of the brains and muscles or your body to get protected and stay safe.

Tendon reflexes are the synapse reflexes which comes when the muscles gets stretched due to the any action and tension creates in tendons

Tendons are the type of connective tissue that binds the muscles with bones.

Now if we talk about purpose of the tendon reflex then there are two basically.

First tendon reflexes are very important in knowing or diagnosing that the balance in your muscles and brain is working properly or not as it balances the muscle.

Second by this we can also diagnose that nervous system of the patient is working properly or not.

When we tap on the deep tendon or the tendon there occurs the stretch in the tendon and in the muscles and so the signal goes in the brain and brain sends signal to contract the muscle that creates jerk off.

This shows the balancing of the muscle which is maintained due to the tendon relfex so this is important one.

And second if there is any lesion in the upper neuron or lower neuron then also this reflex is disturbed.

So for the balance propose the tendon reflex is important and for the diagnosis of disturbed pathology tendon reflex is important as it will be not seen properly.
