Identify 2 functional deficits that would be seen in the body if a person were suffering from an overactive parathyroid gland. Be very specific about each hypothesized pathology, and be sure to include rationale that explains why you think your proposed deficits would be seen in this situation.
Overactive of parathyroid gland leads Hyperparathyroidism.
Overactivty of parathyroid hormone is due to benign tumors of parathyroid gland or some other Abnormal conditions.
Hyperparathyroidism that is overactivty of parathyroid gland leads to excessive production of hormone paratharmone that raises the blood Calcium levels drastically and causes kidneys stones.
Paratharmone increases the Calcium levels in the blood by acting on bones and increases the blood Calcium levels by resorption of bones.
Kidney stones;
Kidney stones are the solid masses that form on the kidney when high levels of calcium in blood .
Stone growth starts with the formation of crystals in the supersaturated urine ,which attaches to the urotheileum and creates stone growth.
Calcium oxalate stones develop on Randall's plaque which is composed of calcium phosphate crystals.
Because of these stones kidney function is effected.
Osteoporosis;
Due to overactivty of parathyroid gland excessive paratharmone causes osteoporosis - bone loss occurs and it is not able to do its function and leads to fracture.
