Purpose

For many users, the system is the user interface. Everyone wants a system that is easy to learn and use. It is the analyst’s responsibility to ensure that the user interface will be designed in a way to support the user’s interface needs.   In this milestone you will explore the guidelines for user interface design. The analyst must consider a variety of interface formats. These include how data gets entered into the system (input design) and how data or information gets presented from the system (output design). This milestone will allow you to explore user interface design principles and apply these to the Universal Wellness Group (UWG) system.

Background

Based on your presentation made to UWG’s partners on the completed milestones so far, they decided to move forward with in-house development of a new business support system.

They liked the idea of a vertical software package, but they want to be able to customize the user interface because UWG’s business functions are more varied. However, it is very important that the new system allow future integration with vertical packages such as electronic health records, computerized provider order entry, and a clinical decision support system.

Using the information you gained in the systems planning and analysis phases of the SDLC, you sit down to begin designing the user interface of the UWG’s business support system. Before you begin, you decide to review the interview summaries, DFDs, and object-oriented diagrams you prepared in Chapters 5 and 6.

Tasks

1. Determine the data required for a new patient. Design an input source document (new patient form) that will be used to capture the patient’s data to enter the new patient information into the system. Use Google Forms, Microsoft Access or another form-designing application to create the screens. If you do not have these available, draw your input screen and attach it as an image to your submission.

2. What control features will you use in the input screens to aid in data entry? Give a specific example of how you will use at least eight different control features in the design of the user interface. Also provide a reason for and justification why the control feature was added to your design.

3. In addition to printed reports, what other output technologies could be used by UWG? Why would you include these additional output technologies?

Format

Task 1)

No template available. You will be creating the form based on your own interpretation of how you would design the form for collecting the data needed from the new patient.

Task 2)

Control Feature

Example

Reason for & Justification

Task 3)

Task 2)

Control Feature

Example

Reason for & Justification

Age

23, 78 12 etc.

Age is an important factor for adding the person in the wellness group database as they can direct many plans and they can provide special supports according to the age group of the patient.

Sex

Male or Female

This is another important control feature because the medical support and treatment changes according to this.

Height Weight and BMI

78KG. 130

Height and Weight is important because according to that doctor can understand the BMI of the patient and the treatment changes accordingly

Allergies in drugs

Sulphur drug

The medicine need to be chosen accordingly where the allergy drug is not available.

Previous history

Any specific issue like had a surgery on Kidney.

Patient will get special care according to the severity of the previous history and treatment will be done accordingly.

Blood group

B+, A- etc

Some of the blood groups are rare and some of them are easy available. The availability record can be available accordingly if needed.

Existing Customer

Yes, No

Some of the formalities can be avoided if the data is already available. Some special offers also comes to the existing customers.

Payment method

Self or Medical coverage

The amount of money covered is sometimes works as an input to the management that which patient can pay how much for certain health reasons/ surgeries.

The purpose of this problem is to use graphic user interface (GUI) to interactively store grades in a text file, rather than adding them manually to a script. Follow these steps to complete the program: Step 1. Use a question dialog box and ask the user “Do you want to run this Program?” with two options for “yes” and “no”. If the user’s answer is “yes”, go to the next step, otherwise, go to Step 6. Step 2. Create a...

Dieting is common in our society and everyone wants a piece of the action. So many diets are available to choose from if someone wants to change their health; e.g., lose weight. Often times, diets are promoted with claims of great success. Choose a particular diet and analyze it in terms of scientific evidence, or lack thereof. Then, design a controlled experiment to test a hypothesis based on this diet. The experiment must include multiple individuals within a control and...

Suppose a user wants to do a system call. Assume that the service routine of this system call is at physical address 500., instead of executing a system call, the user simply jumps to this location 500. Assume that logical and physical addresses are the same and no memory protection is in place, i.e., cpu does not check that this address 500 is beyond the user’s memory space. Will something go wrong while the service routine executes?
