Suppose that the WTAMU post-office wants to develop a new system that will give its user more on-line experience. The post office plans to serve WTAMU students identifying through their ID, or with help from the university information. The new system will facilitate as like the IT service center, a student/faculty/staff will be allowed to create tokens to send/receive their mails, and the post office workers will collect the mail from the service location.

You have been put in charge of designing the project. Develop a plan for estimating the project. Create a work-plan listing the tasks that will need to be completed to meet the project’s objectives. Create a Gantt chart or a network diagram to graphically show the high-level tasks of the project.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Following are the factors required to develop the project:

1. Project aim:A web site is to be designed related to WTAMU post office containing email sending /receiving facilities.

2. Resources:Data to be collected for Registered Student ID/Faculty ID/ Staff ID

3.Project Design :website designing to accomplish the goal

4.Budjet: Estimated budget should be known for maling a good project

5.Estimation Time To complete the project-2/3 months

Steps to design the Project and complete the project withinn deadline:

Step1.Planning- Estimation time-3 weeks to complete

Step2.Resource Collection-Estimation time-2 weeks to complete

Step3. Project Design-Estimation time-4 weeks to complete

Step4.Project Implementation-Estimation time-5 weeks to complete parallely wth designing

Step 5.Follow Up:Estimation time-2 weeks to complete

List of work to be done to design this project:

1.Firstly, a web site is to be designed related to WTAMU post office containing email sending /receiving facilities which will contain login page which will ask for user ID and password as their date of Birth.

It will contain following options :

a) Login as student-If user is a student, one should choose this option, then it would ask for university Roll Number as user ID and password as their date of Birth.

b)Login as faculty-If user is a faculty, one should choose this option, then it would ask for Faculty Id as user ID and password as their date of Birth

c)Login as staff-If user is a staff, one should choose this option, then it would ask for staff Id as user ID and password as their date of Birth.

2.After that verification is done for Login credentials,if Login credentials provided by the user is correct,it will redirect to the next page"Token Creating System" otherwise error message "Wrong Login Credentials" is displayed .

3.Under this tab, choose "Book Token" for sending/receiving mail, clicking on which will popup a box asking out the information of user i.e name, mailing address of user, contact details and click on submit.

4.Token number will be assigned to the user and send to him/her on the contact number provided.

4.Now, If the user has to send/receive the mail, one has to mention the token number which will make his work easier.

5.After that,it will be the postoffice worker who will collect the mail.

Suppose a user wants to do a system call. Assume that the service routine of this system call is at physical address 500., instead of executing a system call, the user simply jumps to this location 500. Assume that logical and physical addresses are the same and no memory protection is in place, i.e., cpu does not check that this address 500 is beyond the user’s memory space. Will something go wrong while the service routine executes?

Purpose For many users, the system is the user interface. Everyone wants a system that is easy to learn and use. It is the analyst’s responsibility to ensure that the user interface will be designed in a way to support the user’s interface needs.   In this milestone you will explore the guidelines for user interface design. The analyst must consider a variety of interface formats. These include how data gets entered into the system (input design) and how data or...

. Suppose a PC manufacturer wants to evaluate the performance of its hard disk memory system. One measure of performance is the average time between failures of the disk drive. To estimate this value, a quality control engineer recorded the time between failures for a random sample of 49 disk-drive failures. A summary of the sample statistics was that x-bar = 5,790.36 hours and with sample standard deviation s = 224 hours. Estimate the true mean time between failures with...
