In Learning Plan 6 we explore the process of conducting research. For this discussion you are introduced to Research Methods and various terms and definitions related to research. SAGE provides a helpful Research Methods Map to assist you with becoming familiar with the research processes. Review the map, terms, and definitions and then report to your classmates what you learned from reviewing the map. Do you have any questions or concerns about conducting research? The purpose of research- The research is a learning and problem solving process which possesses some methods, area of interest and data reviews. The main purpose of research is problem solving and second most important purpose of research is to get appropriate and reliable knowledge.
Abstract of a research- abstract of a research is a kind of summary which explain the purpose of research, variables, methods and results.
Variables- variables are the kind of data which interpret in research and the interpretation define the result of research. Variables can be defined in two terms
1- independent
2- dependent
Data- Data is a most important aspect of any research and data collection belongs to purpose of research. The data can be defined in two main parts
1- Primary Data
2- Secondary Data
Hypothesis- the hypothesis of research is a kind of predicted result which may be true or not, the hypothesis direct the research and help to get the proper methods and data.
Research Methods- Methods of research depends on the problem and data, some methods are- Experimental methods, observation method etc.
Type of research- Research can be identified in many types and these types related to the purpose of research. Some types of researches are Ex-Facto research, Action Research etc.
Data analysis- Data analysis is very important research, we collect many kinds of data and the data is the main element of any research so that we analyse data to get the appropriate result. ANOVA, T-test, F-Ratio, Co-relational values are some kind of data analysis.
Result or Conclusion- The conclusion of a research define the purpose and information collected by a research.
