Q1. discuss with examples 5 factors that influence perception
One of the most important things that influence perception is novelty or the newness of things. People tend to notice things that are new to them in their environment or elsewhere. For example, when children see something new for the first time, it would catch their attention. When people come across something that they haven’t seen before they would also be attracted towards it. Secondly, one’s when something moves, it would catch one’s attention thus one’s perception. This would mean that when everything is static and something move, it would catch one’s perception. Thirdly, things that are peculiar in size such as too small or too big, it would affect one’s perception. This is because of the strangeness that’s found in those things that would be out of ordinary. Fourthly, when things or people are grouped together thus, present uniformity, it would capture the attention. When soldiers march in the same uniform or in same uniform motion, it would catch the perception. Finally, people’s attitudes, beliefs and practices would affect their perception towards things, people and events. This would mean that people from one culture or social background moves to another culture, they would perceive things differently.
