listing the glial cells in the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems. Discuss the functions of each cell.
Answer :- Glial cell in the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems includes
1.Oligodendrocytes
2. Schwann cell
3.Microglia
4.Ependymal Cells
5.Satellite Cells
6.Astrocyte
1. oligodendrocyte is present in the CNS which wrap many times
around axons in the Central Nervous System, creating electrically
insulating sheaths called myelin.
2.Schwann cell is present in the PNS which Wrap their entire cell bodies around axons to form myelin.
3.Microglia is present in the central nervous system's and act as macrophages. They carry out an immune function, phagocytizing microbes and cellular debris.
4.Ependymal Cells is the epithelial cells that line the space containing the cerebrospinal fluid. They use cilia to circulate the cerebrospinal fluid. CSF provide nutrition to the neurons .
5.Satellite Cells is present in thePNS that Support ganglia, which are groups of cell bodies in the peripheral nervous system.
6.Astrocytes is Star-shaped neuroglia in the central nervous system that give physical support to neurons and help maintain the mineral and nutrient balance in the interstitial space...Thanks dear student
