1. b) Systematic sampling
Systematic sampling is a technique for creating a random probability sample in which each piece of data is chosen at a fixed interval for inclusion in the sample.
In the given question, every 10th student is chosen for the interview. Hence systematic sampling is used.
2 . d) Cluster Sampling
In Cluster sampling the total population is divided into groups and a simple random sample of the groups is selected.
Here students were first grouped according to the state in which they lived before coming to the college and then ten states were selected at random, and all students from those states were invited to participate in the study. Hence cluster sampling is used.
3. c) Simple Random sampling
In simple random sampling, each individual is chosen randomly and entirely by chance, such that each individual has the same probability of being chosen at any stage during the sampling process.
Here on the basis of ID numbers, 50 students were randomly chosen. Hence simple random sampling is used.
