a. The circumference is the distance measured at the mid-point between the tip of the shoulder and the tip of the elbow. The measurement of non-dominant arm slightly varies from the dominant one because of the fact that the former is more sensitive than the later.
b. There is no relationship between the circumference of the forearm and the maximum force developed. But there is a direct correlation between hand grip strength and fore arm length and circumference irrespective of age and gender.
c. Proteins secreted by cellualr metabolism is responsible for increase in muscle size called as myofibrallar or muscle hypertrophy. Myofibrils are made up of actin and myosin together compose sarcomere attributed for increase muscle size.
d. Strength training will lead to a drastic increase in the size of a muscle fiber. Strength training involves low-frequency, high-force output activity that resulting in hypertrophy by inducing increase of the cross sectional area of a muscle fiber of both type I and type II.
