What are some of the factors that differentiate between motor unit types? Check all that apply
-soma size
-actin and myosin
-myosin ATPase type
-Mitochondrial content
-Presence of troponin and topomyosin
soma size.
myosin ATPase.
Mitochondrial content.
Based on motor units, muscle fibers are classified as, Type-1, or slow twitch fibers, Type-2 A or fast oxidative glycolative fibers, Type-2 B or fast glycotic fibers.Type I fibers have low ATPase activity, are slow twitch, have high oxidative and low glycolytic capacity, and are relatively resistant to fatigue. Type IIA fibers have high myosin ATPase activity, are fast twitch, have high oxidative and glycolytic capacity, and are relatively resistant to fatigue. Type-2 B, fibers have high myosin ATPase activity, are fast twitch, have low oxidative and high glycolytic capacity, and fatigue rapidly. Type-1 have high mitochondria,Type -2 A have moderate mitochoondria levels while Type-2 B have low level of mitochondria. Type-1 have small neuron size, Type-2 A have larger neuron size than Type-1 fibers and Type-2 B have largest neuron size.
