Which of the following homeostatic processes requires calcium? (Select all that apply.)

neural communication
bone repair and growthbone repair and growth
production of gametesproduction of gametes
muscle contraction
All the below processes require calcium.
1. Neural transmission is incomplete without calcium ions. When calcium ions are blocked, neural transmission is inhibited.
2. Blood clotting also require calcium ions. If calcium is insufficient, then blood doesn't clot. This is the reason blood bags also contain a chelating agent to trap the calcium and thus prevent blood clotting in the blood bag.
3. Bones are essentially made of calcium. So bone repair and growth naturally require calcium. Without calcium bones would not be strong enough as well as their growth is hampered.
4. Production of gametes also require calcium ions. This is an active area of research now. And it has been proved in various journals and papers that gamete production and fertilisation require calcium ions.
5. Calcium ion is required to activate tropomyosin and actin. Thus initiating muscle contraction.
