Make/Draw a concept map of

1. Endochondral Ossification

2. Intermembranes Ossification

Solutions

Expert Solution

1.Endochondral ossification means the bone develops from cartilage.
i.e. the mesenchymal cells 1st differentiate into chondrocyte s which forms cartilage(hyaline) and later during development these cartilages undergo transformation to form bone.
This takes a longer duration than the intramembranous ossification.
Usually seen in long bones of the body.

2 .intramembranous ossification means that the bone directly develops from mesenchyme without being differentiated into chondrocyte. I.e. replacement of connective tissue membrane therefore called so.
Usually occurs in flat bones like clavicle.
