Explain in detail why public housing was established and who was known as the “Father of Public Housing.” Explain the positives AND the negatives associated with public housing.
Why public housing was established:
Public housing is a trending concept, started by the US government with the main aim to provide the poor people, low income families, elderly people and disabled persons with the facility of housing. It is an initiative stated whereby the house is funded, owned and managed by the government authorities. The people or the families trying to avail this facility must fulfill certain eligibility criteria in order to get the house. Minimum charges need to be deposited to the government authorities in the form of rent, to be able to stay in the accommodation.
Father of public housing:
Ernest J. Bohn is considered as the father of public housing. He was an American politician and a leading figure in public housing. He contributed a lot in building public housing for low income families or elderly people.
