Gang violence can be dealt with a combined approach of involving efforts of each every section of society. First of all the community itself should address the problem of gang violence and seek official help for it. With collaboration of people living in the community, neighbourhood, police officials, various non-governmental organizations, aid and support from local and state government , vocational training providers etc. The problem of gang violence is witnessed in small sections of less educated, unemployed youth who have nothing better to do.
Firstly, identifying such anti-social elements in community, who are more likely to get involved in such activities. Keeping a strict supervision on such individuals through official or community members. With the help of local administration police patrolling may be organised to ensure a check on the situation that is conducive to gang violence. Working with non- governmental organisations to provide vocational training to young unemployed members and provide them work to keep them occupied. Providing community intervention ,counselling, even rehabilitation facility to people seeking help, as majority of people involved in gang violence are in some way related to other crimes and have subsstance abuse problems in their life. Even families of former gang members and their children are at risk of becoming a potential gang member and engage in similar activities. Poviding old gang members and their children access to education to improve their quality of life and have a secure position in society.
