DIFFERENCES:

RIBOSOMAL PEPTIDE ARE SYNTHESIZED BY TRANSLATION OF mRNA AND NON RIBOSOMAL PEPTIDE ARE SYNTHESIZED BY ASSEMBLING BY ENZYMES THAT ARE SPECIFIC TO EACH PEPTIDE RATHER THAN BY THE RIBOSOME.

The ribosomal peptides cannot explore amino acids beyond canonical 20 proteinogenic amino acids.And non ribosomal peptide can have cyclic or branched which can contain non proteinogenic amino acids.

Limitation of their structural diversity to some degree but can be modified in such a way to perform resembling the non ribosomal peptides.But non ribosomal peptides are a very diverse family of natural products with an extremely broad range of biological activities and pharmacological properties.

Lantibiotics,microcins etc are ribosomal peptide modification. Some of the non ribosomal peptides are antibiotics, cytostatics etc.

SIMILARITIES;

Here the modifications of ribosomal peptides performs similarly to the non ribosomal peptides.

Both takes main role in protein synthesis.
