We discussed many energy options in this module and the previous module. Taking into account all the energy options we learned about in this course, please discuss the following:

  1. In your evaluation, which of the discussed energy solutions benefits our society the most? Please explain.(Solar & Wind
    Biomass & Biofuels
    Fuel Cells & Geothermal
    Power Grid & Efficiency)
  2. What values is your evaluation based on?
  3. Evaluate the government actions to implement the energy solution you selected. Is the government doing enough? Please explain. Do you have any suggestions to improve the implementation of this solution?

Expert Solution

  1. The best energy solution is Solar & wind. They are renewable sources of energy. They can be produced throughout the year since, the air flow days are almost present over the year and during summer solar panels can be best utilized.
  2. The values are that it never hurts the environment. Pollution levels are almost zero by using these energy sources. Solar panels can be installed in every house. Wind energy turbines can be installed in vast open areas thereby it never interrupts human movement.
  3. Government allocates considerable budget and staff to establish the future dream of harmless energy production. Since the initial investment is vast, private companies are not interested much in establishing these energy methods. But government has created policies and market methods to create value based opportunities for these energy methods. Government can still do better by exploring lot of options over these energy sources by encouraging people with subsidies and support to install solar panels. My suggestion is to install wind generation plants with more concentration in the areas where power grids and geothermal options are feasible so that the agricultural lands can be saved and heat generation and burning of coal can be avoided.

In this module (Module 11: Differential Analysis), we discussed several common business decisions such as whether to accept a special order. In each case, a manager should make the decision attempting to maximize what outcome? One decision we discussed was whether to make or buy a component part for our production. Discuss the factors you would need to evaluate in order to make a proper decision as to whether a car manufacturer should make their own tires or purchase them...

3. In the first unit of this module, we discussed the neural basis for learning and memory. a. Describe the process of LTP. Be detailed in your response. b. Whereas LTP is an increase in the effectiveness of synapses, LTD is a process by which specific sets of synapses are selectively weakened. Calcium is involved in both LTP and LTD. Explain how different concentrations of calcium would lead to LTP vs. LTD. Be specific in your response, including the enzymes...

Review all the materials discussed in this and the preceding module. After reading the information and guidelines, discuss why nutrition and weight status are important for health. Post one reference you used for the evidence-based information you are discussing. Please make an initial post by midweek, and respond to at least two other student's posts with substantial details that demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and critical thinking. Also, add an additional point to complement their post. Remember that your...

In module 1 we discussed supply and demand. Create a children's story to explain the difference between a change in demand vs a change in quantity demanded using ice cream as your good. Also, include in your story a change in supply vs a change in quantity supplied regarding ice cream. To illustrate the changes you can make up your own.
