(Answer) The article Organizational Collective Motivation has hypothesised that employee motivation is the key to running a successful organisation. An effective motivational plan helps an organisation extract the most essential resource required for an optimal output.
The Soar framework consists of four elements that form the acronym, Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results. I would use this frame work to motivate a workplace simply because it helps consolidate the stages of interest in work, hard work and passion for the job. All of these stages comprise of the overall motivation of employees. Without this framework, it would be a mired mess to attempt to motivate 50 employees at a time, all of whom would have different personalities, preferences and talents.
The major behavioural aspects that would influence one’s level of motivation are how they function within a group. There are obviously projects that are better handled by a group and some that are better off with a single person working on it. This would mean that one would have to best determine interpersonal employee relationships. Issues brought to HR should be immediately addressed and employees should truly feel that they work in an ethical environment where every worker is treated equally and justly. This would reduce negative competition, sabotage or any animosity that would hamper the outcome of a project.
This is where the “strengths” and “opportunities” from SOAR would need to be best analysed in order to determine the “aspirations” and enjoy the results.
