GIVEN DATA : Cylinder Length (L) = 300 mm

                     Cylinder Diameter (d) = 150 mm => radius (r) = d/2 = 150/2 = 75 mm = 75 x 10-3 m

                     Load (F) = 12000 N

                     Change in length (Lc) = 1 mm   => final length = 301 mm

SO, STRAIN = (final length - original length)/original length = (301-300)/300 = 0.003333

AREA of a cylinder (A) = 2*Pi*r (r+L) = 2*3.14* 75 x 10-3 (75 x 10-3 +300 x 10-3 ) = 0.1767 m2

Young`s modulus (E) = stress/strain = (Force/area) / strain = (12000 / 0.1767)/0.003333 = 203.75 GPa

So answer is E = 203.75 GPa
