The similarities include the model on which the company operates ( Franchise or the company owned operations), guiding values and principles, employee policies and general operating procedures, store structures, logo and promotions and to some extent, the items it offers.
The differences include dress code of employees accroding to the local culture, product portfolio according to local customs, traditions, preferences and cultural attributes and the promotional campaigns to relate closely to the local audience.
B
Cultural particularism refers to the idea that every culture has its unique attributes and no universal law governs the characterstics of cultures. A shared global culture is an amalgamation of many unique, individual cultures coexisting together in shared business environment. Cultural sensitivity is very important factor that should be taken into consideration while transacting globally. Being sensitive to other cultures helps to bridge the gaps created by languages, races, ethnicities, attitudes and beliefs, and helps to communicate and transact successfully in a global business environment.
