Give an brief example of each of the following: declarative, procedural, contextual knowledge
Declarative knowledge-
Declarative knowledge is expository in nature, that is it describes about facts and information to gain understanding about a concept.
Example- Inorder to understand about the solar system, one should know the names and various terms related to solar system. The facts and information regarding the solar system assist in gaining understanding of the concept.
Procedural knowledge
Procedural knowledge is practicing the acquired knowledge. Knowledge to apply various concept is procedural knowledge.
Example- Various formulas are required to practice mathematical and statistical problems. Thus, the use of formulas to practice mathematical problems is procedural knowledge.
Contextual knowledge
Knowledge to apply various concepts for problem solving for different contexts is contextual knowledge.
Example- Knowledge of various concepts of language is applied to deal different situations, as to express one's imagination through a story or poem, or applying the same lingual concepts to project facts and figures during a power point presentation.
