Are you a staunch proponent of whistleblowing? Why or why not. Justify your reasoning with examples
Whistleblowing is a process of revealing the private and classifies information about the government or organization in the public. Which helps to stop the misconduct or wrong conduct by the government or organization. Whistleblowing is always depended on person to person thinking. If the person is an employee of the company. It is morally incorrect to share the classified information about the organization. But, the same time it is good and helpful for the society people that they able to know the wrongful activities by the organization. Personally, I'm a staunch proponent of Whistleblowing. Because Whistleblowing help the society to know how the government and organization treat them. We able to know all the wrongful activities done by the organization to make profit and making his customers fool. Whistleblowing give the chance to the government and organizations to change their policies, laws and quality. which can affect the society.
We can take an example of Jeffrey Wigand vs Brown & Williamson Tobacco company case. Where, Jeffrey Wigand vice president of the company become the whistleblower. He said that the company had intentionally manipulated or increase the level of nicotine in his cigarette to make customers more addictive. This help the customers or society to know about the unlawful activity of company and tobacco company admit his mistake and promise to not to do this again. So, Whistleblowing sometimes help to change the rules of the organization and most of the time. It is beneficial for the society
