Why guns should be legal

Guns laws are on roller coaster ride following the recent shooting incidents in American schools. There are arguments to make these laws more rigid so as to minimize the gun owners. But I would rather defend on why gun should be legal and the laws should be pretty much same even now.

America is not safe at night in most of its parts, which is a known fact. The mugging, robberies, attempt to murders are common. In these cases if an individual posseses a gun, his chances of avoiding the implications of these situations get increased by a higher percentage.

The second amendment states that guns are legal. If we banned guns we would not only go against the constitution but the crime rate would also go up. Moreover, Guns do not kill people, guns are simply inanimate tools that can be used for good or bad things.

Guns save more lives than they do harm. Over 20000 women Annually used a gun in self defense to stop from sexual abusers. Outlawing guns does not protect anyone, it only makes others vulnerable to those who want to take advantage of them.

My point is here that guns don't control men, men control guns. And time and again, it has been proved that owning a gun is an asset and gaurantee of protection. So guns should pretty much stay legal.
