How does social location and media representation affect the formation of individual identity? Provide two specific examples and analyze them.

Social location- All people are known by their specific gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or geographical location, this identity is reffered as social location. These aspects affect every individual in different manner. Every aspect is known for a significant characterstics. People are afraid to be separated from their social location. Therefore they consider their personal indentity as social identity.

for example-

• If a person is male then the person behaves like other male. He consider that his behaviour should be masculine otherwise he might become a part of joke, In opposite, females are also told to act like a female.
• If a person belongs to any particular place, s/he act according the rules of that place. people don't want to be separated from their social identity. hence they do acceptable behavior according to that particular place.  

Media representation- This is the way in which the media shows particular groups, communities, experiences, ideas or topics from a particular value or ideological perspective.

for example-

• In india, elders are very respective, so media connects it will emotional appeal. After watching this every Indian can relate with it, and they thinks that I am an Indian and I should respect my elders.
