My countries are Greece and Russia.
For these two assigned countries, write a professional report that compares and contrasts their trade patterns.
Greece is more of an export oriented country, with its trade
representing almost 72.5% of the GDP. Whereas, Russia experiences a
positive trade every year with exports of worth $ 427B and imports
valuing $231B. Greece exports packaged medicaments, non fillet
fresh fishes, refined petroleum, aluminium plating, etc. Whereas,
its imports include crude petroleum, passenger and cargo ships,
etc. Similarly, Russia exports refined petroleum, crude petroleum,
coal briquettes, petroleum gas and wheat, whereas, its imports
includes cars, broadcasting equipment, packaged medicaments,
planes, spacecrafts, etc.
Greece is one of the countries which is involved in the
negotiations of (TTIP) Transatlantic Trade and Investment
Partnership along with the US and European Union. On the other
hand, Russia is a part of the Commonwealth of independent States in
which 9 countries including Russia are a part, which is signed and
ratified by the Free Trade Agreement. Alsong with trading
activities there comes many barriers of trade too which are faced
by every economy. Greece faces trade barriers like computers,
semiconductors, scientific instruments, etc as Greece imports
various scientific research equipment. Whereas, Russia faves the
barriers of tariffs imposed by its trading partners, which most
likely affects the trade practices of the country.
