There are number of leadership theories that state how an individual either is born with leadership qualities or acquires them over a period of time in their life.

Many theories state that leadership traits are gained by learning, are contingent with positive results in life or success in life,so a person learns them or can even be trained for being a leader.

Thus a person with few inherent qualities ,can be further trained to acquire qualities and also to strengthen the inherent qualities.

For a universal manager to suit globalization or a global manager ,it is necessary that a person inherently possess certain qualities like openness, honesty, integrity, optimism ,empathy and a lot more .

Also a disctinc quality that individual should posses to be a universal manager is knowledge about different cultures and he should have openness to accept different cultures and the diversity amongst various cultures. As for better functioning cultural sensitivity is of utmost important, because these individuals have to interact with people from various geographic locations, belonging to various cultures and also they have to get well acquainted with the world, for managing their work with maximum effeciency.

They should know how to manage cultural diversity, because with globalization comes cultural diversity.
